Community Playground of Columbia, Inc. (CPCI) also known as FUN CITY Youth Academy (FCYA) has provided school aged childcare for over 30 years.  We have year-round programming. We have expanded our mission and are dedicated to providing innovative academic, social, vocational enrichment experiences for urban youth (5-18) including tutoring and site based mentoring. We make learning come alive by integrating computer technology, creative and performing arts, interactive and constructivist educational instruction, within a safe, culturally nurturing environment. FCYA guides children to succeed educationally and also aims to cultivate their parents self-esteem by providing support and motivation to realize their full potential, as adults, to make positive life choices, develop strong work ethics and, possibly, train in higher education, as they learn to believe they can achieve their ultimate dreams and become more productive, involved citizens. Through our programs, we provide inner city families similar opportunities as the more affluent, thus attempting to 'level the playing field' and grow future leaders.
